2024 Miss WV Cupcake Festival – Breanna Herrick
Breanna is a junior at Marietta College majoring in Special/Elementary Education. She lives in New Martinsville, WV where she owns her home based business, “Bre’s Cupcakin’ Around.” Breanna has been able to give back to her community by hosting Live Cake Fundraisers on her Facebook page. To date, she has raised over $45,000 for individuals and organizations in need. Her hope is to become a WV Special Education teacher and own a food truck where she can take her students to learn job skills so they can be included in the workforce. Breanna has been competing in WVAFF pageants for over 10 years, and is honored to represent “the Sweetest Festival Around!” Knowing that all festival proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation makes helping others a piece of cake!
2024 Pre-Teen WV Cupcake Festival – Ayla Huggins
Ayla is the 11 year old daughter of Tony and Alyssa Huggins. She is in 6th grade, plays volleyball, sings in her school choir, advocates for Type 1 diabetes, and is very active in local 4H club. Aside from showing her cows and pigs at her county fair, she also farms a variety of poultry, including chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, and turkeys. Ayla also annually hosts the Diabetes Dash 5k fundraiser in November where all proceeds are donated to the WVU Pediatric Endocrinology Department. In her down time she enjoys racing her pink dirt bike and participating in WVAFF pageants. She plans to become a large animal veterinarian when she grows up.
2024 Teen WV Cupcake Festival – Evan Mace
Evan lives in Washington WV with her parents, Logan and Julie, her brother Rome as well as her two dogs, one cat and one rabbit. She is an 8th grader at Blennerhassett Middle School where she is a cheerleader and percussionist in the middle school band. Evan also is a baton twirler for Twirl Force where she has won many individual and group awards. Evan enjoys pageantry, reading, crafting and hanging out with her friends in her spare time Evan is looking forward to spending time with her sister queens at the festival and invites everyone to come celebrate 10 years of the Sweetest festival around!
2024 Ms. WV Cupcake Festival – Jayda McHorney
Jayda is a second semester senior at Marshall University. She is set to graduate in December with a bachelors degree in cyber forensics and security with a minor in criminal justice. She lives in Cross Lanes with her boyfriend and four cats. She works as a shift supervisor at the Kanawha Boulevard Starbucks and is also a member of the West Virginia Air National Guard, 130th Airlift Wing working in the communications flight. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with her cats. She loves Disney World and Legos. Be sure to ask her about her Lego room when you see her. Her favorite cupcake is red velvet with cream cheese icing.
2024 Mrs. WV Cupcake Festival – Alyssa Henry Huggins
A graduate from Scott College of Cosmetology, Alyssa has been active in the hair industry for 20 years and is the owner of Our Place for Family Hair Care in Moundsville. In her free time, she enjoys exercising at Prodigy Wellness Center, and is an extreme athlete competing in several road races, mud runs, and obstacle course races. She is also the race director for the Diabetes Dash 5k fundraiser in New Martinsville, where all proceeds benefit the WVU Pediatric Endocrinology Department. A life long resident of West Virginia, Alyssa was raised on her family farm, an avid 4-H’er and Livestock Club member. She and her daughter continue to show beef cattle at local fairs and festivals. Alyssa is the wife of army veteran, Tony Huggins, and mama to Type 1 diabetic warrior, Ayla, and they reside on their small hobby farm in Wetzel County.
